Data Availability statement

The Global Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences (GJMPS) encourages transparency, reproducibility, and responsible sharing of research data. Authors submitting research articles are required to include a Data Availability Statement describing the accessibility of the data supporting the findings of the study.

The Data Availability Statement will be published within the article under the heading “Data Availability Statement.”

Authors must select the statement that best reflects the availability of their research data and provide additional details where applicable.

Data are Available in a Public Repository

If the research data are publicly available in an open-access repository, authors should provide:

  • the name of the repository

  • persistent URL or DOI

  • accession numbers where applicable

  • conditions for reuse or licensing information

All publicly available datasets used in the study must be appropriately cited within the manuscript and reference list.

Example:

“Data supporting the findings of this study are available in [Repository Name] at [URL/DOI], under the terms of the applicable license.”

Data are Available Upon Reasonable Request

If the data are not publicly available but can be shared upon request, authors should specify:

  • the type of data available

  • the contact person or corresponding author

  • contact details or ORCID identifier

  • conditions for access or reuse

Additional supporting materials such as protocols or statistical analysis plans may also be made available where appropriate.

Example:

“The datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”

Data Obtained from Third Parties

If the study used data obtained from third parties that cannot be publicly shared, authors should provide:

  • details regarding the nature of the data

  • the source of the data

  • contact information for access requests

  • applicable restrictions or permissions

Example:

“Data used in this study were obtained from a third party and are subject to restrictions. Access may be requested from the original data provider with appropriate permission.”

Data Included Within the Article

If all relevant data are included within the manuscript or supplementary files, authors should clearly state this.

Authors must ensure that:

  • no patient-identifiable information is disclosed

  • supplementary files comply with ethical and privacy standards

Example:

“All relevant data supporting the findings of this study are included within the article and its supplementary materials.”

No Data Available / Not Applicable

If no datasets were generated, analyzed, or applicable to the study, authors should state this clearly.

Example:

“Not applicable. No datasets were generated or analyzed during the current study.”

Ethical and Privacy Considerations

Authors are responsible for ensuring that shared data:

  • comply with ethical standards

  • protect patient confidentiality and privacy

  • do not contain identifiable personal information

  • comply with institutional and legal data protection requirements

The journal reserves the right to request clarification or additional information regarding data availability during the editorial or peer-review process.
